Bendrigg 2015

What do you pack in your suitcase when you are heading to the Lake District for a week in September/October?

Normally, our suitcases would be holding enough layers to keep us warm and dry but this year it was a very different case. We had the most glorious weather for the whole week, the sun shone every day and it never rained once. It was t-shirts and sun tan lotion for our Duke of Edinburgh expedition.

The expedition meant that Caroline, Kallum, Matthew, Michael and Louis all completed their Expedition section of the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh award, whilst Sam and Alice have completed their Silver expedition award section. Sally May was very lucky and got the offer to go on the morning of departure to replace someone who could not make it.

The group worked really well as a team and helped and encouraged each other with all the challenges and tasks that faced them. They thoroughly enjoyed canoeing on Windermere, caving in the Yorkshire Dales and all the other exciting activities they were lucky enough to experience.

Well done to everyone for all their hard work!
